Leave your home and cat in good hands — and return to everything just as you left it

Hi, I’m Tom. I love cats, quiet homes, and living simply.I’m a mature, respectful sitter who’s stayed in dozens of homes, primarily through Airbnb, and treated each one with the same care I’d give my own space. I understand what it means to be trusted in someone else’s home — and I take that responsibility seriously.

What I offer:• I care for your cat with patience, warmth, and attention to their routine
• I treat your home gently, leaving it tidy and peaceful on your return
• I’m low-impact: I don’t host guests, smoke, or drink alcohol
• Weekly updates so you always know how things are going

Let’s take the stress out of going away.

Testimonials

While I’ve house-sat for friends, I haven’t yet done sits for individuals through house-sitting platforms. What I have done is lived respectfully in more than 30 homes since 2016, mostly through Airbnb, usually for 3–4 weeks at a time. Each of those stays was an act of trust — and I worked to honour it.Here are just a few testimonials from Airbnb hosts to give you a sense of how I live in a space and what you can expect when I care for yours.

About me

I come from a background in project management and event planning, which means I’m naturally organised, a problem solver, and someone who thinks ahead. I take initiative, stay calm under pressure, and know how to manage logistics, details, and people — all with a light, steady hand.

For over 20 years, I’ve travelled solo across countries and cultures, always curious about how other people live and what makes each place feel like home. That curiosity has shaped how I move through the world: with care, attentiveness, and a strong sense of respect for the spaces I enter.I’m especially fond of cats and enjoy their company. Their personalities, routines, and quirks are something I pay attention to — and gently adapt to.

What you can expect from me

• A respectful presence in your home, maintaining your space as it is
• Care and attention to your cat’s feeding, habits, and comfort
• I don’t smoke, drink alcohol or do drugs
• Daily or weekly updates on the house sit, to keep you in the loop
• A clean, well-kept home on your return

What you can expect pre-housesit

• We’ll have a Zoom call before we meet to get to know each other and talk through your needs
• Once I’m on-site, we’ll go over your preferences, schedules, and expectations
• I’ll ask about your cat’s routines: feeding times, litter habits, toys, quirks, health notes
• We’ll discuss practicalities too: what to do in case of things like building outages, unexpected noise, or anything unique to your space

The only thing I need from you

A stable Wi-Fi connection, as I do remote writing during my sits.

Frequently asked questions

Q1: Do you stay in the house the whole time?
A: I work remotely as a writer, so I spend most of my time at home. Your cat will have plenty of company throughout the day, and your home won’t be left empty for long periods.
Q2: Are you okay with indoor-only cats?
A: Yes — I’m very mindful about doors, feeding times, and routines. I respect each cat’s boundaries and any house rules you’ve put in place.
Q3: Do you bring guests over?
A: No — I treat your home as a private space. I don’t host visitors or socialise in the house. It’s just me and your cat.
Q4: Do you do any housework during the sit?
A: Yes — I keep things tidy as I go and clean up after myself daily. For longer sits, I also handle:
• Basic maintenance-level cleaning like vacuuming or wiping surfaces
• Taking out bins on rubbish days
• Watering indoor or outdoor plants (if needed)
• Collecting your mail and keeping it in order
• Being available for scheduled maintenance (with advance notice)
Q5: How do I know how things are going while I’m away?
A: I send you a daily or weekly email update with a short summary — just enough to reassure you everything’s fine, without disrupting your time away. Communication is part of how I care for your space.
Q6: What if something unexpected happens?
A: If there’s an issue — a power outage, unusual noise, or something you’d want to know about — I’ll get in touch promptly. I approach situations calmly and practically, and I’ll follow your preferences for what to do.
Q7: What kind of sits are you looking for?
A: I’m most comfortable in urban, suburban, or city-based homes where there’s a stable internet connection, as I write remotely while house sitting. I especially enjoy longer stays — they give me time to settle in, get to know your cat, and care for your space in a calm, consistent way.

A Quick Note on What I Don’t Do

Just to be clear on boundaries:• I don’t take on house repairs or DIY jobs
• I don’t do garden maintenance, beyond light watering if needed
• I don’t pay for home expenses or utility bills
If something breaks or needs attention, I’ll always let you know immediately so you can decide the best course of action. My role is to be your responsible stand-in — but not your substitute homeowner.
